2017 Wedding Recap | Some of my Favorites | Amber Tyler, Photographer

WOW what a year! 2017 was full of lots of amazing people and awesome adventures. We traveled throughout Idaho, Washington, Montana, Nevada, and New Mexico documenting the sweetest love stories. I went through and selected one image from each wedding to share in this blog post. There are so many images that I love… so some of these I had to just close my eyes and pick one because it was taking me entirely way too long to decide! Haha! Anyway, I will be sharing more from each wedding in more blog posts… so don’t worry, you will get to see more. Until then, enjoy this one image each recap for my 2017 wedding season!

To all of my wedding clients of 2017- THANK YOU! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. I am so honored to know you all and to have been able to document such awesome moments. I wish you all the best- here’s to the start of your best adventure yet!

Sincerely, Amber Tyler

Corinna + Michael | Post Falls, ID Wedding | Amber Tyler Photo

Oh my goodness, where do I even start?! First, I think I need to talk about how incredibly special Corinna and Michaels ceremony was. They had their whole wedding right in the backyard of Michaels parents’ home. This was the perfect location for a wedding! You will see there is so much space and incredible views. The ceremony was packed full of sentiment, family, stories, advice, romantic comedy plug ins, and most importantly- love and commitment. Michael chose to do a foot washing ceremony, demonstrating and act of love and service to his wife, just as Jesus did for his disciples. And I have to add that I don’t think there was a dry eye in the audience or wedding party at this time, this was so incredibly beautiful and touching! They also did a unity sand ceremony to demonstrate their lives joining, and becoming one. Everything was so beautiful and full of meaning. Their officiant also just happened to be Michaels Uncle, so the message throughout the whole ceremony was very personal and unique to them as a couple. Right before the end of the ceremony, their close family members came up and everyone in attendance reached their hands forward to say a prayer over their marriage. In case you didn’t know- marriage can be extremely hard at times! So to start off right from the get go, with all the love and support from everyone there, is so extremely special and something I know they will always remember!

The details at the wedding were perfect. Most were done by themselves, and friends and family. Michael and family built the cross and fence used for the ceremony. The amazing floral details on the cross were done by Terrie-Lynn Mort of Bonita Floral Co. The cake and cupcakes were done by Stacie’s Cakes. Brides hair done by Ashlee Anderson. Makeup was done by the brides sisters.

Corinna + Michael,

Thank you so much for having me capture this special day for you!!! I knew when I first met you two, that I had to be your photographer!! I mean, what are the chances of meeting another photographer that has lived basically everywhere you have lived?! haha! I am SO extremely excited for your future together. Michael- good luck in medical school, I know you are going to do amazing things! Good luck on your move to the East Coast, just know there are many many people over here on the West side that love and miss you! When you need a reminder, just take a look at these photos. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Hillman!

Sincerely, Amber Tyler

Kaley + Brandon | Moscow, ID Wedding | Amber Tyler Photographer

I met Kaley and Brandon last year, when I had put out a model call for a real couple to use in my promo video I was having made for my business. I sought out to find the perfect couple that fit my brand, and I was so excited when I read Kaley’s submission. She described them as a fun, loving couple that seeks adventure together and LOVES to hike and do anything outdoors. They were perfect for what I needed! We scheduled a date and then anxiously waited to see how this all would go. I had never had a video created before. I knew I had a vision in my head of what I wanted, but I was so nervous because this project was all about me and this business I have poured me heart into. I wanted so badly for the video to truly represent what I love about what I do, and I hoped that I would click (no pun intended hehe) with this couple in person, as much as I had over email.

To say we clicked is definitely an understatement. Right away, when I finally got to meet them and we started shooting, I felt as if I knew them already. Like we were long time friends. They were not only eager to be doing this shoot for me, they were so appreciative that they got to add this experience to their list of “awesome things we got to do while engaged”. Ok that’s not a real list, I made it up. But still! They really appreciated the experience, which is what I hope for every one of my clients to feel. That appreciation is so rewarding. We had a great time shooting and everything came so natural to them. I had my friend Jason of Killer Creations do the videography. He is amazing! If you haven’t found your videographer yet for your wedding, he is definitely the one I would refer you to! You can view the video I’m speaking of by CLICKING HERE. It all felt like it was just meant to be. That they were a couple I was supposed to meet, and they were meant to be a part of this journey in my business. When I watch this video I am just amazed by how far I have come in my dream of doing what I love, and seeing these people that I have developed friendships with in the meantime. So when they asked me to be their wedding photographer afterwards, of course I was honored.

Ok enough about how we met, lets move on to the wedding! Seriously, this wedding blew my mind. The majority of it was DIY. Kaley thought of everything, no detail was left behind. The venue was one that is in the middle of a remodel, but it was still so amazingly perfect for the day. It is called Paradise Ridge Challenge in Moscow, Idaho. The flowers were arranged by a family member- Toby Keough of Honey Suckle Design. Cake and desserts were made by Ronatta’s Cakery. There were so many sweet moments throughout this day. Kaley gave little handkerchiefs to all of her bridesmaids and gave one to me as well. They were definitely needed, because many happy tears were cried on this day (as you will see below photos of the first look with Kaley’s father, and Kaley and Brandon reading letters they had written to each other.. seriously, not a dry eye in the area while these events were happening!). I cherish the fact that she thought of me and included me in this. I have kept the handkerchief in my camera bag ever since and take it to every wedding with me. I’m sentimental like that!
