Back in March I had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas, NV and attend WPPI. While I was there, a good friend of mine that lives in Las Vegas helped organize a shoot out for a group of photographers to attend at the Valley of Fire. This was the part of the trip I had been looking forward to the most! I absolutely love getting to shoot in new locations with terrain that is different than what I have available to me at home. The Valley of Fire is definitely a different terrain than what we have here in Coeur d'Alene, ID!

I'm not gonna lie, the forest, lakes, and waterfalls are what make my heart sing. I LOVE where I live and I am a PNW girl through and through. BUT the Valley of Fire had a different beauty that I couldn't help but fall in love with as well. The colors, the textures, the split tones of softness as well as vibrance. The light was perfect and I had the advantage of coming at a time of year that wasn't scorching hot.

Aside from the lovely setting, I had even more beautiful people to work with. In this post I am sharing photos from the shoot. I had never done a shoot out before, so I was a little unsure of how it will all work. We had about 20 photographers there and 5 or 6 models. We all got to rotate and take turns working with the models we wanted time with. It all went great and I can't wait to do another shoot out sometime soon!

Each girl was a dream to work with. They were so much fun and laughed at my cheesy jokes so that's a plus 🙂 I can't wait to return to Vegas sometime soon to do another shoot in the Valley of Fire! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. Enjoy!
